About the performance
The Understanding of Fandom is a monodrama by Theater Company Arirang that explores contemporary fandom culture through a deeply human and intergenerational lens. Centered on a university professor of traditional Korean music who becomes an avid fan of a K-pop idol, the performance examines how passion, admiration, and emotional attachment shape personal identity and relationships.
Performed as a one-actor piece embodying multiple characters, the work combines theatre with music, multimedia, and AI-generated elements.
